Ningbo Zhoushan International Shipping Center ranks eighth in the world

According to the latest Xinhua Baltic International Shipping Center Development Index Report (2024), Ningbo Zhoushan has successfully entered the global ranking of international shipping center cities, ranking eighth.

Following its first entry into the top ten in 2021, consolidation of the previous year's ranking in 2022, and ninth place in 2023, it has achieved a historic breakthrough in four years, surpassing globally renowned ports such as Hamburg, New York— New Jersey, Houston, and Tokyo.

Ningbo port enterprises credit evaluation list 2023 issued

to assist the steady growth and quality upgrading of foreign trade

The Municipal Port Office, in collaboration with the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Municipal Taxation Bureau, the Municipal Transportation Bureau, Ningbo Customs, Ningbo Maritime, Zhejiang Border Inspection and other relevant units, collaborated with the Ningbo Aviation Exchange and industry associations to jointly carry out the credit evaluation of enterprises in the port for the year 2023.

Ningbo accelerates the construction of "Hub Free Trade Zone"

On the 7th, the "Kur" LNG (liquefied natural gas) transport ship docked steadily at the "Green Energy Port" terminal of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Ningbo, reloading 65000 tons of liquefied natural gas from the bonded warehouse onto the ship, and then transporting it overseas for sale by LNG ships. This is the first time Ningbo has conducted bonded LNG offshore transshipment trade in East China, following the implementation of the province's first bonded LNG refueling business for international navigation ships in June.

At the beginning of this year, Ningbo issued the "Action Plan for Building "The Hub Free Trade Zone "in the Ningbo Area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone. The action plan proposes that the Ningbo area should be built into a hub free trade zone with "good global accessibility, excellent internal and external connectivity, strong resource allocation, and high integration and innovation", and become a benchmark for the national "hub free trade zone".

A large windmill installed on the banks of Meishan Port

Recently, a 6.25-megawatt wind turbine was installed on the bank of Meishan Port in Beilun, and technicians were debugging it on the top of the engine room.

It is learned that the wind turbine is part of the Meishan Low Carbon Wharf Demonstration Project's integrated wind and solar energy storage project. The entire project includes 5 wind turbines with a capacity of 6.25 megawatts each, a 1.72 megawatt photovoltaic project, a 1 megawatt/2 megawatt hour energy storage project, and supporting energy management systems. The wind and photovoltaic power generation of the project will be mainly for self-use, with the surplus power connected to the grid. After completion, the annual clean energy power generation can reach 59.17 million kilowatt hours, reducing 22600 tons annual carbon dioxide emissions
