Ningbo's road freight industry officially entered the new stage of "Internet + freight". According to relevant persons of the Municipal Transportation Bureau, there are still many enterprises in the city that are preparing to declare the network freight operation license. The relevant government departments also provide guidance services for enterprises, and strive to let enterprises "run only once at most" and complete the relevant qualification review and license issuance work as soon as possible.
Ningbo's transportation industry is interdependent with the port, which makes the market demand closely related to the trade cycle and shipping schedule, resulting in no vehicles in the peak season and idle vehicles in the off-season. Even if some platforms want to meet the market needs through self-purchased vehicles, they are worried that the cost will be too high when they are idle in the off-season. In the transportation market, as the cargo owner of Party A, there is a convention of "one settlement in 3 months " in the accounting period, and the operating costs of vehicles always exist.
The construction and development of the platform requires a lot of capital support. The world’s largest container ship docked for the first time to the newly-built highest-level container berth in China - At about 4p.m. on May 1, “Hyundai Algeciras” ship, with a capacity of 23,964 TEU, steadily docked in berth 7 of Meishan Port District of Ningbo Zhoushan Port. The ship will sail along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” to European ports after loading and unloading more than 5800 TEUs in Meishan Port.
Meishan Port District has a total of 10 approved container berths and a car roll-toll shipment berth. No. 1 to No. 5 berth and car ro-ro berth has been put into use. No. 6 and No.7, two 200,000-ton berth, are the highest level of newly built container berth at home. And the efforts of building remaining berths are accelerating. Upon operation, the No.1 to No.10 berths in Meishan Port would see an annual container throughput of over 10 million TEUs. As a result, Meishan port is expected to become the second “ten million class” single container terminal in Ningbo Zhoushan Port and the fourth “ten million class” in the world following Tangshan Port.
