Value of certificate of origin in Ningbo FTZ increases

In 2013, Ningbo issued 62,293 copies of various regional preferential certificate of origin, with the issuance value exceeding $2.161 billion, an increase of 12.79% and 14.15%, respectively. Despite the adverse overall situation of foreign trade last year, Ningbo achieved a steady growth in exports to the emerging markets, which greatly promoted the market conversion for export enterprises.

So far, those countries that have established free trade zones with China are mostly developing counties, while the countries covered by the GSP certificate of origin are mainly developed countries like those from the EU. As the economic situation of those developed countries was still on the decline in 2013, Ningbo only issued 220,000 copies of general preferential certificate of origin, with a total value of $7.7 billion, down by 4.3% and 3% respectively. On the contrary, the regional preferential certificate of origin bloomed. Among others, the value of the certificate of origin for Sina-Singapore FTZ increased by 45.55%, that of certificate of origin for Sino-Costa Rico FTA up by 43.6%, and those for Asian-Pacific Trade Agreement, the Sino-ASEAN FTZ, the China-Chile FTA, the China-Pakistan FTA, and the China-Peru FTA, all up by above 10%.
