Road transport market to be rectified

It is learned from the related traffic department that from February 20, directed by Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, Ningbo People's Government and Ningbo Municipal Commission of Transport, Ningbo Road Transportation Management Office is to launch the "Skynet No. 4" action, a two-month road transportation rectifying action, jointly with the Public Order Branch and the Traffic Police Detachment of Ningbo Municipal Public Security Bureau.
It is learned that the action will focus on rectifying unlicensed taxis and related spots, some regulation-violating behaviors or business service problems for taxis, such as refusing hire, imposing partaking on passengers and stop at no-parking sections, and the common business problems in all the transportation markets. The rectifying action will cover the whole city and focus mainly on the main roads, passenger routes, stations and urban-rural fringe areas. By the last weekend, during the Spring Festival transport period, the Inspection Detachment of Ningbo Road Transportation Management Office had carried out over 20 special rectifying actions. Over 4600 inspection personnel seized over 890 illegal behaviors, including over 210 illegal behaviors of passenger coaches, 191 unlicensed taxis, 446 illegal behaviors for taxis, and dealt with over 790 complaints on taxis.
Recently, the number of unlicensed taxis and taxi complaints is on the rise. According to a related official from Ningbo Road Transportation Management Office, the "Skynet No. 4" action will be a joint effort by all the inspection forces in the city in carrying out cross-regional inspection with the Public Order Branch and the Traffic Police Detachment. They will increase the rectifying intensity by strengthening station checks to deter the illegal vehicle owners and cracking down the illegal behaviors in transportation markets.
The inspection department also advises the taxi drivers and owners to attach more importance to civilized operation. The violation of regulations will not only lead to the point penalty for drivers but also be included in the assessment system of the vehicles and affect the operating right of the vehicles.
