Ningbo ranks high in assessment of government service ability

People’s livelihood is indispensible with the government service ability. Recently the Report of City Governments’ Ability in Public Services was released. The report makes assessment of the service ability of 19 quasi-provincial cities and above. Ningbo ranks the third, next to Guangzhou and Nanjing.
The report is made by a team of Sun Yat-sen University and jointly completed by 19 universities.
Taking comparability into account, the assessment is made of 19 quasi-provincial cities and above. They are: Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang, Ji’nan, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xi’an (the above ten cities are quasi-provincial cities), Dalian, Qingdao, Ningbo, Xiamen, Shenzhen (the above five are cities independently listed in the national plan), Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing (4 cities directly under the Central Government).
The report covers ability to identify demands of public services, the ability of service supply and the ability of the government to learn and improve. The assessment shows that the top three are Guangzhou, Nanjing and Ningbo, and that Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Shenzhen rank the 8th, 4th, 14th and 6th respectively.
