Cixi City Maps out E-commerce Development Plan

Recently, Cixi issued E-commerce Development Plan 2014-2020. According to the plan, the city will use seven years to build itself into an e-commerce industry service center of household appliances nationwide, Ningbo cross-border e-commerce pilot demonstration area, and a city of a strong economy in the north of Ningbo urban economic circle network.
In recent years, Cixi's e-commerce industry has shown rapid development momentum. In 2013, the city ranked No. 17 among the Best 100th National E-commerceCounty. Currently, up to thousands of businesses and individuals in the city apply Alibaba e-commerce platform tools, with over 20,000 B2C and C2C stores. Home Appliances provides of e-commerce, represented by Fotile, Qinyuan and other enterprises of this type, have emerged. The goods also show strength in terms of place of origin. More than 50 local enterprises, represented by Gome, Suning, and Vanguard, have joined e-commerce, with 400 sets of appliances on average are sold everyday. In addition, the regional e-commerce ecological chain, represented by e-commerce park, has gradually taken shape.
The city is a late starter of e-commerce, but enjoys rapid development. It has huge strengths in terms of the real economy, infrastructure, growing Internet users, the investment environment and outsourcing services. However, problems are also common in talent shortage, industry chains. To this end, Cixi issued the Plan to provide support to further accelerate the development of e-commerce industry.
Plan clearly points out that Cixi will promote the six key tasks to form spatial pattern of e-commerce development, i.e. 2 parks + 3 bases + numerous park service centers. By 2020, it aims to create 2-3 vertical e-commerce platforms locally, facilitate the transformation of 20-50 traditional industries to e-commerce providers. Over 90% businesses use e-commerce, nurturing 1-3 e-commerce listed companies. It aims to build five industrial parks or industrial bases of e-commerce, with online retail sales exceeding 50 billion yuan and network transactions over 100 billion yuan, creating 15-20 million jobs; Meanwhile, e-government and e-public services are made basically universal.
