The 2015 Ningbo International Marathon started on the morning of October 24 at Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Zone. 10,000 athletes from 32 countries and regions attended the competition.
The first Ningbo International Marathon will begin on Oct 24 in Hangzhou Bay New District, which is full of beautiful scenery and plenty of greenery, according to the official invitation meeting in Shanghai on July 9.
More than 30 representatives from over 20 countries' consulates in Shanghai including France, the Netherlands and Portugal and chambers of commerce attended the meet.
"It's a pleasure to attend the invitation meeting. In addition to the marathon, I know more about the city and Hangzhou Bay New District," said Thomas Rollet, France's deputy consul-general in Shanghai, adding that he hopes to enjoy the emerging international city's charm during the event.
The representative from Slovakian consulate Zhong Xuan mentioned, "The national wetland park in Hangzhou Bay New District impresses me. I'd like to see the magnificent view."
"I'll introduce the beautiful and passionate city to my friends," a representative from Polish consulate reacted, "Bydgoszcz and Ningbo are sister cities, so I hope both cities to deepen communication through the marathon."
