Innovation strengthening strategy launched in Jiangdong District

On July 30th, the “proposal on promoting innovation to strengthen transformation” was passed by the 6th session of 8th plenary of Jiangdong District Party Committee. With the industrial innovation as the central task, it will take the lead in building upgraded urban economy.
“We strive to build the regional innovative system with central urban characteristics after three years’ efforts. We hope to actually improve the innovative economic development and basically form the innovation-driven development pattern, to provide strong impetus for the acceleration of the modern core urban construction.” said Hu Jun, Secretary of Jiangdong District Party Committee.
Modern service industry is the supporting point of urban economy. With the improvement of knowledge content, technological content and value content as the starting point, Jiangdong District will develop the five modern service industrial clusters including financial service, modern trade, port and shipping service, cultural creative industry and professional service. The industrial structure will continue to be optimized, to realize the goal of the added value of modern service industry accounting for over 72% of the whole service industry, and the revenue of service industry accounting for over 85% of the total. 
In the first half of this year, the transformation of professional markets in Jiangdong District were well under way, such as the completion of the underground part of the main work of the Tianlun Time Square and the excavation and reconstruction of the Haitian Fruit Market block. With the reconstruction of the Ningchuan Road as the key part, the professional markets in the three-river area will be improved on an overall scale. Building economy contributes to a half of the revenue in the district, with such high-profit buildings as the Finance Building and the Hengfu Building. In the new round of development of headquarter economy and building economy, the district will introduce and cultivate a batch of comprehensive headquarters buildings, with such carriers as A-level buildings, technological buildings and intelligent buildings. It strives to increase the comprehensive headquarters enterprises from 33 to 50 within the following three years.
