Public cultural service system being improved in Ningbo

In recent years, the municipal government, starting from the public satisfaction, has explored a new way to build and run the public cultural infrastructures, to hold public cultural activities and big cultural festivals, which is guided by the government, run by the market, supported by the society, and beneficial to all the people. 
Ningbo Cultural Square, run by Ningbo Development Investment Group, is a giant public cultural complex with the biggest investment, largest scale and complete functions. Following the pattern of "run by the public and supported by the government", a series of museums and art galleries like the Museum of Ten Li's Red Make-up, Jinlun Art Gallery, Zhang Dehe Root Carving Gallery, and Zilinfang Art Gallery.  


Yinzhou started encouraging and guiding social forces to participate in the exploration and attempt of public cultural service through the entrusted operation and management of such public venues as Yinzhou Cultural and Art Center and Yinzhou Sports Stadium. In 2008, Yinzhou made it a system to support private museums. Now social force has become an indispensable part of Yinzhou public cultural service. 
In Cixi, family "cultural yard" is also very popular. For example, Feng Tianyuan, a Gao Opera fan and provincial folk art talent in Zhouxiang, has spent 2.5 million yuan to provide venues and musical instruments for the local opera fans, and to hold regular fans party.  
Haishu, however, encourages private capital to invest in the production of high-quality cultural products by prize instead of subsidies. As a result, several films and TV dramas like "Forever Love", "Absurd Agreement", "My Husband is an Undercover", and "Little Monk" have been made.  
At the same time, social forces have also actively participated in the training and organization of public cultural service teams. Now the grassroots amateur cultural teams are flourishing in Ningbo. To date, there are altogether about 6000 grassroots amateur culture and art teams and 60 private professional culture and art teams. They have become important force to meet different cultural demands of the public, to develop public cultural service and enrich public cultural life.
