2015 "Ningbo Week" in Shanghai kicks off

With the opening of the promotion meeting for Ningbo's modern shipping services held in Shanghai International Conference Center, the 2015 "Ningbo Week" in Shanghai opened on May 19. Themed on promoting Ningbo's construction of port economic circle, this year's "Ningbo Week" will launch 12 theme activities to attract merchants of Zhejiang or Ningbo origin and further promote Ningbo's cooperation with Shanghai and its surrounding areas.

Both being port cities, Ningbo and Shanghai have a great basis for cooperation in developing "port economic circle" and "urban economic circle", with modern shipping and logistics as an important aspect. At the promotion meeting, over 100 businesses were organized by Shanghai Transportation Association, Port Association and International Freight Forwarder Association to participate in the industrial communication and negotiation concerning such issues as bulk commodity transaction, financial settlement and legal intermediary. Agreement was signed at the meeting for ten projects, including those for Minsheng Shipping and Shanghai Shipping Arbitration Court, with a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan.

Altogether 11 theme promotion activities will be launched for this year's "Ningbo Week", including the Shanghai-Ningbo E-commerce Docking Meeting, the promotion meeting for cultural projects, and Ningbo tourism fair. As the highlight of the week, the 2015 Ningbo-Shanghai Investment and Cooperation Fair will introduce high-quality capitals and high-end services by taking advantage of Shanghai's abundant resources in capital, information talents and market, and attract major Shanghai enterprises to invest or set up branches in Ningbo for the "3-year action plan" projects and PPP projects.

As an important comprehensive platform for economic promotion, exchange and cooperation, "Ningbo Week" activities have been launched in such major cities as Shenyang, Chengdu and Wuhan, and agreements have been signed for 466 projects, with a contractual investment volume of 131.727 billion yuan
