Drinking water in Ningbo remains good

March 21 marks the 23th World Water Day. According to the water resource report published by Ningbo Water Conservancy Bureau on March 20, the water source mainly for citizens’ drinking water remained good. The total water supply of reservoirs including water storage projects stood at 1.524 billion cubic meter, an inrease of 4.2% from the previous year. The reservoir has played a pivotal role in supplying good-quality water. The total supply of tap water hits 991 million cubic meters, an increase of 4.6% from the previous year. Besides, water for daily use witnessed a steady growth, reaching 494 million cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.
The report shows that water consumption per 10 thousand yuan GDP in 2014 was 30 cubic meters, down by 3.6% at comparable prices. Water consumption for every 10 thousand yuan worth of industrial value added was 16 cubic meters, down by 5.2%. Ningbo continues to take the lead in the efficiency of water consumption across the Zhejaing province and the country at large.
