With the coming of the warmest days of the year, many citizens have replaced their bedding with the bed-mat for summer. In shopping malls and supermarkets, such summer products as the summer sleeping mats and mosquito nets have quickly dominated the shelves.
Bamboo sleeping mats most popular
In the home textile sections of all the urban supermarkets, sleeping mats in various forms have been on sale. The diversified bamboo mats, grass mats, rattan mats and bamboo pillow sheets are best sellers. "I'm planning to buy a new bamboo sleeping mat for my parents to replace the old one they are using now." said a Ms. Zhang, who is looking for a suitable mat on the third floor of the Auchau Supermarket in Haishu District.
According to Ma Song, Deputy Director of the supermarket, "The sales of the summer sleeping mats have started since last week. Unlike a month ago, now we can have a sales value of about 5000 yuan for the mats. The most popular ones are those priced at about 100 yuan."
According to experts, for people who are much afraid of hotness, they can choose bamboo or linen mats, while for those who don't want to go too far, grass or rattan mats are the best choice. People should buy different mats according to their personal conditions and preferences.
Besides the summer sleeping mats, such products as mosquito nets and mosquito-repellent incense are in season now.
In some of the supermarkets, it could be seen that some mosquito-repellent products had been put on shelves and some even on sale. "Besides the diversity of the products, the electronic incenses featuring Chinese herb additives are at reasonable price and convenient to use, which brings them a lot of young buyers." Statistics from another supermarket in Haishu District show that in the past week, the average daily sales volume for mosquito-repellent incense products stood at 4000 yuan or so, with those priced at 20 yuan as best sellers.
In addition, such traditional mosquito-repellent products as the mosquito nets are also well received. "We are accustomed to using the nets. We are glad to see now we have various good-looking mosquito nets to choose from" said a senior customer in the supermarket.
