Three emerging industries develop well in Jiangbei

The disused old factory at 8, Baoma Street of Kongpu area has been converted into "No.8 Park", a technology incubator for technological and cultural enterprises. The Zhenghe Innovative Workshop, a municipal mass hacker space, has started the construction of its second phase, with the total incubation area reaching 40,000 square meters, which has attracted 77 enterprises covering such high-tech fields as robot intelligent recognition system and new energy automobile. With the establishment of the incubator association, Jiangbei District has made great efforts to develop its innovation spaces, resulting in a total mass hacker space area of over 140,000 square meters.
Since the beginning of this year, the district has developed a series of innovation and entrepreneurship platforms such as the mass hacker spaces, incubators, accelerators and industrial parks, to provide all-around services and support to the business starters. According to the recently held innovation and development meeting, by the end of the 13th Five-year Plan period, the district will possess a total hacker space area of over one million square meters and attract over 100 high-tech enterprises. With this aim, the district will invest over 100 million yuan in the construction of the innovation and cooperation platforms and major projects, over 100 million yuan in the introduction of first-class technological innovation teams or research organizations, and the government fund for technological and financial innovation will be over 100 million yuan.
"We will make great efforts to improve innovation and enhance services. With efforts and investment, we will help to strengthen the entity industry and optimize the leading industries." said a leader from Jiangbei District government. Only by standing high and seek high can the district expect rapid development.
Besides the rise of the new incubators, the existing innovation platforms in the district are speeding up upgrading. The district technological venture center introduced over 150 enterprises and over 1100 posts. To provide the incubation area for more quality projects, the center has started the moving and expansion job, attracting over 10 projects or teams.
With the acceleration of the innovation upgrading, the innovation energy has enhanced gradually. The three emerging industries develop well, including the equipment manufacturing, high-tech industry and the strategic emerging industry. Statistics show that in the first quarter of the year, the district achieved a total GDP of 150 million yuan, up by 8.4% over the same period of last year, ranking No.1 among the 11 counties or districts in Ningbo. The three emerging industries realized an added value of 1.16 billion yuan, 1.37 billion yuan and 630 million yuan respectively, up by 11.9%, 13.1% and 7.8% over the same period of last year.
