Jiangdong District tightens control over water environment

Ningbo's Jiangdong District recently launched a special program in an effort to improve its water environment within three years.

According to local authorities, Jiangdong District will give priority on the examination and treatment of pollution in the 68 rivers in this district. More standard pipelines will be added for the discharge of domestic sewage. Besides, a thorough investigation system will be established to ban local factories, construction sites, and restaurants from discharging sewage into the rivers.

Central Block project of Damu Bay kicks off

The central block project of Damu Bay in Xiangshan County was officially started on November 8, after the completion of the related tender procedures. It is understood that with a total investment of up to $620 million, the project aims to build the Damu Bay into a superb "city parlor" for Ningo.

The project mainly consists of the centre block project of Damu Bay and road project of Yinbo Road. The central block project, located in the hub area the center of the new town, is an important portal and core construction of the landscape belt of new town, and will be completed in July 2015.

The Yinbo Road project, located in the inner bay, with a total length of seven kilometers, covers the road, seven bridges (water gates), 5500-meter tram and tour trail, landscape greenbelt and integrated pipelines. The landscape belt around the road will assume the belt-like shape, with the water affinity platform, square grassland, ecological exhibition, wooden trail and cloud pavilion along the road. The section of the landscape belt between the center of the new town and Songlan Mountain, with a total length of two kilometers, will be completed in May next year.

Food retailer goes online

The online agricultural products retailing is making another highlight of Ningbo's booming e-commerce, as a number of online retailers are exploring new models and new markets. A new online food retailer named HOWER (http://haoer.ebsig.com/) officially went online at 10:00 am on Monday. With its own agricultural farm and self-service pickup stations network, the new online retailer aims to integrate the online and offline sales and offer new online shopping experience to local consumers.

HOWER combines modern agriculture with urban community service platform, and offers modern agricultural products shopping and distribution services. The online retailer had its own farm covering an area of 1,000 mu(164.7 acre). In the meantime, it set up about 300 self-service pickup stations in stores all over Ningbo. Customers can place an order via computers, cell phones, or telephones. They can pick up their grocery in the nearest station within 24 hours after they placed their orders.

The 15th China Plastics Expo opened in Yuyao

The 15th China Plastics Expo opened in Yuyao on November 6. Professional merchants from China and over 20 countries and regions including USA, Germany and UK will come to the exposition. 

China Plastics Expo is the largest and highest grade event in the industry and related industries. It has run in Yuyao since 1999.

It is learned that the 4-day China Plastics Expo this year is entitled by the Ministry of Commerce as "China (Yuyao) International Plastics Expo 2013 and the 15th China Plastics Expo and it is listed in the exhibitions supported by the Ministry of Commerce in this year. During the expo, Zhejiang Yongyi Payment Company, the first non-financial payment and settlement company for the e-business of plastic industry of Zhejiang, opened. 

Zhou Xiaoyan, Member of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Ningbo, made a speech at the opening ceremony.

The other day, the 15th China Plastics Expo opened the signing ceremony, at which agreements of 18 projects were signed. These projects include 9 foreign-funded ones, with the investment totaling 159 million US dollars and the contract foreign capital totaling 77.5 million US dollars. There are 7 domestic-funded projects, with the investment totaling 4.31 billion yuan and the contract domestic capital totaling 610 million yuan.
