Ningbo makes new high in export of sea food

According to Ningbo Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine, in 2013 Ningbo exports 141,100 tons of sea food in 3014 batches, involving 581 million US dollars, making a historical new high.
Ningbo is one of the greatest bases of China for sea food processing and export. The amount of fishing of Ningbo covers over 10% of the total of the country and most of the exported products are sea food.
There is a change in the export of sea food. In the last year, for the first time, Ningbo exported 1,098.09 tons of frozen sea slug, valuing $50.391 million. The export of frozen sea slug is a highlight of the exported seafood.
In the last year, the seafood of Ningbo exported to over 70 countries and regions, in particular the markets of Japan, USA, South Korea and European countries. The export of South Korea increased by 50% and the export to Spain and Portugal was doubled. There is a notable increase in the emerging markets in Southeast Asian countries, African countries and Latin American countries.
