Long-distance video teaching was often provided to those who receive adult teaching. Last week, a teacher in Dongjiao Central Primary School, Jiangdong District, gave a Chinese lesson to pupils at Peizheng Primary School in Hong Kong by means of long-distance video teaching. Is it brand-new?
It would be hard to imagine that the teacher is now teaching students in Hong Kong if you were not on the sport watching screen here. Chinese knots, paper flowers and red crackers, these are typical Chinese elements which will be introduced in this Chinese lesson. Liu Zeli, Office director of the Dongjiao Central Primary School, notes: "In response to the demand from Hong Kong counterpart in terms of knowing more about Chinese tradition and the development of China in the past few years, we offered them the topic on typical Chinese elements, which are represented by the color of red. The exchange between Dongjiao Central Primary School and primary schools in Hong Kong started two years ago."
The exchange was also one part of the education program Video China. The program was initiated by Chinese University of Hong Kong and is now financially supported by Hong Kong High Grade Education Fund. It is expected that the program could promote the cultural exchange between Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong
