WeChat gaining favor among community service centers

Recently, Danfeng Community in Jiangdong District began to release information on Wechat via a public account. The account offers information including the district's news, popular issues and basic information. WeChat users can get timely information on their cell phones.
WeChat, a mobile text and voice-messaging app designed by the Internet giant Tencent, is becoming an increasingly popular tool for community service centers to interact with the public. With the advantages of timeliness, convenience and interactivity, the app gives local community centers a way to quickly respond to public concerns and thus applauded by young citizens.
The Wechat account of Baihe Neigbourhood has currently attracted more than 800 followers and has solved over 300 public problems. The new platform not only helps to discover and resolve "hidden" problems but also increase interaction with young residents in the neighborhood.
