After a series of incidents on food safety

The melamine-tainted milk powder incident has caused a severe blow
to the dairy industry. It is really a dilemma for those exhibiting
companies at the food expo. As soon as we come in the exhibition hall,
we spot a booth of a dairy company from Shenzhen.
Because of the milk powder incident, many companies do not show up.
But we are confident of our product. We will make better product and
will improve our quality. So we just promote our product in the most
eye-catching place, says a milk producer.
The pamphlets of the exhibitors give more emphasis on the safety of
the foods. Many companies put the letter of commitment of Food Quality
and Safety in the most salient place. Some labels of food packages
highlight green and safety.
Health and quality control departments send patrol teams on spot for
supervision. At a stand of fruits, some inspectors are testing the
residual farm chemicals of the fruits.
The food expo has kept a tight control of the access threshold and
on-the-spot regulation, to ensure good quality of the products. |

According to Ningbo Municipal Administration
of Industry and Commerce, in the past 10 months this year, the total
import and export volume reaches 58.744 billion US dollars, exceeding
the amount of last year, increased by 26.7% above the same period of
the previous year. And for this, Ningbo is No.1 in all the cities
independently listed in the national plan.
Statistics show that in the past 10 months this year, the export
volume reaches 39.441 billion US dollars, increased by 25% over the
same period of previous year. The import totals 19.303 billion US
dollars, increased by 30.5% over the same period of previous year. The
growth rates of export and import are respectively 3.1 and 2.9 points
