National Day Flag-raising Ceremony held
With the fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus wafting through the fresh air, the city was buried in a sea of joy. On the early morning of October 1st , the City held a grand flag-raising ceremony on Zhongshan Square in celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the founding of new China. City leaders including Wang Huizhong, Liu Qi, Wang Yong, Shou Yongnian and some 1, 000 people from all walks of life attended the ceremony.
The ceremony is attended by government officers, youths, women, students, soldiers, urban management officers, policemen as well as kindergarten kids. They waved flags and held the banners saying “Motherland: we will love you forever!”
At 7:58, 32 armed officers escorted the five-star red flag to the flagstaff. At 8:00, accompanied by our national anthem —— “The March of the Volunteers”, the bright-colored national flag rose up slowly in the sky.
All those present were standing solemnly, wishing motherland a better tomorrow. “That was a solemn moment. I felt proud and gave my best wishes to my country,“ , “I will study more diligently to make more contributions to my motherland when I grow up.” said a Experimental Middle School student from Jiangbei District after the ceremony.
