First Group of College Grads Startup Parks Designated

Five College Grads Startup Parks including Yinzhou College Grads Startup Park were designated as Ningbo’s first group of parks in which college students set up ventures after going through the evaluation by the municipal authorities. And it was also agreed to hold the awarding ceremony at the work conference on human resources and social security held on Jan. 12.  
As a platform providing entrepreneur services to college graduates, municipal College Grads Startup Parks are meant to guide more students to start businesses successfully. It is learned that the five parks started up by 320 students provide over 1100 job opportunities.
And also, the first group of entrepreneurship training bases were designated to improve college students’ ability to initiate businesses. The bases are Zhejiang Wanli University, Ninghai Advanced Vocational-Technical College and Ningbo Polytechnic, all of which got the name plates at the work conference on human resources and social security.

Du Yubo inspected Ningbo University

On the afternoon of December 5, Du Yubo, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education inspected Ningbo University accompanied by Wang Renyuan, Deputy Secretary General of Ningbo Municipal Government Office, Huang Shili, Director of Ningbo Education Bureau, Cheng Gang, Secretary of Party Committee of Ningbo University and Nie Qiuhua, President of Ningbo University.

After hearing reports on the university, Du Yubo made an important speech. He spoke highly of the performance of Ningbo University and put forward several requirements. Firstly, the university should centered on the cultivation of talents. Secondly, it should continue to focus on its localized development. Thirdly, Ningbo University should proceed to develop and inherit the advantages of overseas Chinese founded schools. He emphasized: "It is quite important for Ningbo University to have such a good developing trend. With regard to the co-building proposal made by the university, we will make a detailed study and discussion. As to its proposal of being included in the reform experimental school, the Ministry of Education will definitely support it. It is hoped that Ningbo University will consider in more details the related issues and that Zhejiang Province and Ningbo City will continue to provide better conditions for its development."

Besides, Minister Du visited the "applied marine biological technology lab" in Ningbo University, a key lab of the Ministry of Education.

Privately-run Vocational Education Summit Forum Held in Ningbo

Nowadays it is a common phenomenon in China that on one hand it is diffcult for college grads to get employed and on the other it is hard for companies to employ enough people. To address such a problem, the third national summit forum for the privately-run vocational education was held in Xikou, Ningbo, on December 2nd. Professors from more than 50 vocational schools attended the forum in an effort to find out ways to develop vocational education. Experts from college and educational institutions of Japan, Germany and Korea also attended the forum.
The forum, first held in Zhejiang, China, was sponsored by the Ningbo Dahongying University, which is one of the three vocational colleges that have the qualifications for undergraduate education.
The attendees discussed on how vocational schools cooperate with enterprises, how public-run vocational schools and privately-run ones cooperate with each other and how vocational schools cooperate with their foreign counterparts. They agreed that it is necessary for privately-run vocational colleges to seek multi-cooperation and opening-up.
