Import and export volume of Ningbo Port hits a historical high

According to the statistics from Ningbo Customs, the total value of import and export of Ningbo Port in 2017 reached 17 trillion yuan, up by 6.7% over the previous year, hitting a historical high in terms of the scale. To be specific, the export volume stood at 12 trillion yuan, up by 9.4%, and the import volume stood at 498.89 billion yuan, up by 0.6%, with the trade surplus of 710.86 billion yuan, up by 16.6%.

In terms of the variety of the enterprises, the private import and export enterprises achieved a total import and export volume of over 11 trillion yuan, up by 10.5%, accounting for 66.4% of the total, with a contribution rate of 100% to the growth of the port foreign trade. The foreign-funded import and export enterprises achieved a total import and export volume of 293.78 billion yuan, up by 3.6%. While the state-owned import and export enterprises achieved a total import and export volume of 279.04 billion yuan, down by 3.8%.

Eight out of the top ten trade partners of Ningbo Port witnessed growth of foreign trade in 2019. The top three are the EU, the US and the ASEAN, accounting for 43.5% of the total. Among others, the ASEAN maintained a fast growth of 26.1%. The others among the top ten include Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the Taiwan area of China, Russia and Brazil. With a growth of 41.6%, Saudi Arabia ranked No.6 among all the trade partners for Ningbo in 2019. The two trade partners that witnessed decline of volume are the US and the Taiwan area of China, with the decrease rates of 4.1% and 0.3% respectively
