Solar cell export triples

The latest statistics from Ningbo Customs show that in the first 11 months of 2014, the solar cell export from Ningbo increased three times over the same period of last year.
With over 100 various photovoltaic enterprises, Ningbo is the top one photovoltaic production base nationwide. The EU used to be the major target market for the solar cell export. According to the statistics, in 2011, Ningbo's total export volume for solar cell products stood at about US$900 million, while the export to the EU accounted for 80% of the total.
However, after the anti-dumping and countervailing investigation, the market share of the EU has shrunk, and the ASEAN has grown to be the biggest market for solar cell export. Data from Ningbo Customs show that in the first 11 months, Ningbo exported 13.154 million solar cells. The ASEAN, India and the UE are the top three target markets, with the export amounts of 8.164 million, 1.147 million and 933,000, a 91.8-time increase, a 1.5-time increase and a reduction of 28.9% respectively, accounting for 77.9% of the total export volume via Ningbo Port.
