Warm loving cushions in Yuyao

"I seldom travelled by bus in winter. The seat was too cold", said an 80-year-old granny. But recently, she found things were different now when taking a bus from Yuyao to Linshan: on the special seats for the vulnerable groups is a cushion made of cotton velvet, which feels warm and soft.
These loving cushions on the special seats have been used on the buses of Yuyao for about half a month. Yellow or purple, embroidered with characters which mean "love and warmth travel with the bus" , with two connected hearts, theses cushions are warm and practical. But in the past 15 days, none of them is lost.
"I think every bears a kind heart for the vulnerable people and are willing to maintain the warmth together," said 28-year-old Han Yujiao, the college-graduate-village-official in Mazhu Town, who is also the initiator of the campaign. In the winter of 2013, as a expecting mother, she personally experienced the hardship of vulnerable people. "Although people will offer their seats to you, but the plastic seats were too cool and it made me feel uncomfortable."
Since then, the mother-to-be started designing the loving cushion, measuring the size, designing the patterns and calculating the costs. Finally, her project won the competition of public welfare creativity competition and a 30-thousand fund.
At the beginning of December, the first cushions arrived at the west bus stop of Yuyao and the remaining 1800 also covered all the buses in the city. Up to now, on almost every bus in Yuyao there are 3 to 4 such cushions. "It is pretty cold these days, I hope these cushions will warm people," said Han Yujiao
