Progress of innovative designing industry in Ningbo

For the transformation from "made in Ningbo" to "Made by Ningbo", Ningbo in recent years has implemented the strategy of "rejuvenating the city by industries" to promote the industrial designing industry. In resent years, Ningbo has opened a large number of innovative designing parks like "Xinzhi 8", "Creative 1956", "Creative Factory 3" and Hefeng Creative Square. With such measures as introduction of creative enterprises and favorable policies the city has promoted the development of innovative designing and industrial designing.
Hefeng Creative Square has the largest number of innovative designing enterprises. It covers an area of 85,400 sq m, with the total investment amounting to 3 billion yuan. Since its opening on October 20, the square has housed over 70 local industrial designing enterprises and those from Italy, Holland, UK, USA and South Korea, whose business ranges from industrial product designing, housing designing, cartoon & animation workshops, 3D printing and customer-made designing and so on.
At present, the operation area of the three municipal-level industrial designing parks amounts to 440,000 square meters, with over 130 industrial designing businesses of various kind. There are 3,500 people engaged in industrial designing and 8 of them have the title of senior Zhejiang industrial designer. The income from designing service totals 350 million yuan, the city obtained 314 patents and 19 national and international prizes for designing.
