Ningbo to launch 1,308 LNG heavy trucks to help with emissions reduction

To further promote energy-saving and emissions reductions, Ningbo will launch 1,308 LNG (Liquefied natural gas) heavy trucks, 400 pure electric buses, 332 electric bus-charging stands in the city, and use green materials during the construction of the Sanmen Bay Bridge. 

From 2010 to 2013, the average yearly growth rate of Ningbo's total energy consumption has reached 6.87%, and the average yearly growth rate of dioxide emissions from transportation has reached 6.84%. 

Ningbo is expected to save 40,600 tons of standard coals, substitute 161,900 tons of standard oils, and reduce 286,800 tons of dioxide emissions by the end of 2018. 

A total investment of RMB 7.67 billion, covering 43 projects, including a RMB 50 million investment in 2015, will be invested by the government to achieve the 3-year goal.
