The Income Gap Between Urban and Rural Residents in Ningbo Has Narrowed for 17 Consecutive Years

The latest data from the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Ningbo Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics show that in 2021, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in the city will be 1.72 times worse, 0.22 and 0.03 lower than the province and Hangzhou, and 0.02 smaller than the previous year, marking 17 consecutive years. The year is shrinking.

Regional development has become more coordinated. In 2021, the difference between the highest and lowest per capita disposable income of residents between districts and counties (cities) will be 1.43, the same as the previous year, and 0.18 and 0.49 lower than the province and Hangzhou, respectively. The level of the lowest-income areas is further close to the level of the city, with a ratio of 78.8% in 2021, 0.5 percentage points higher than that in 2020, and 9.9 and 26.5 percentage points higher than the province and Hangzhou, respectively.

The income of low-income farmers led the growth. In 2021, the city's low-income farmers will achieve a per capita disposable income of 19,217 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%, 0.4 percentage points higher than that of the province, and an increase of 5.5 percentage points higher than the city's rural residents' income.

The people's livelihood has been continuously improved. Fiscal and people's livelihood expenditures are well guaranteed. Last year, the city's transportation, housing security, and health expenditures increased by 65.8%, 42.4%, and 12.2% respectively; the urban registered unemployment rate was 2.31%, maintaining a low level; the proportion of days with good air quality in the central urban area was 95.8%, an increase of 2.9 percentage points year-on-year; the PM2.5 concentration was 21 micrograms/cubic meter, a decrease of 2 micrograms/cubic meter
