Ningbo set up Zhejiang's first department against environmental crimes

According to Ningbo Public Security Bureau, in order to fight against the environmental polluting crimes, recently, Ningbo Public Security Bureau and Ningbo Environmental Protection Administration jointly launched a 40-day program to fight against environmental polluting crimes.
On the understanding that environment pollution harms the health of the people, in early November 2013, the State Environmental Protection Administration and the Ministry of Public Security jointly released a document, specifying the seven working mechanisms and the responsibilities of the public security department and the environment protection department. At the meeting Ningbo recently held on environment protection, Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Ningbo Municipal Government have determined that the city should take ironfisted action against environment pollution, and strengthen law enforcement and supervision. As a result, Ningbo Public Security Bureau set up the investigation team against environmental crimes, the first of the kind in Zhejiang.
