Xiangshan Port Bridge to be completed

It is learned from the related departments that Xiangshan Port Bridge will be completed and open to traffic at the end of this year. Then, it will only take less than one hour to drive from the downtown area of Ningbo to Xiangshan County.
The building of the bridge will change the disadvantaged traffic status of Xiangshan Peninsula by involving it in the "one-hour traffic circle" of Ningbo. Meanwhile, it will include Xiangshan in the golden traveling line composed of such areas as Shanghai, Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge, Ningbo (Dongqian Lake and Xiangshan County), Wenzhou and Taizhou.
Bridge attracting more tourists
Mr. Zhang, a manager from a tourist agency, says that with its beautiful scenery and delicious seafood, Xiangshan County has a lot of tourist advantages, while it is a pity that the tourism used to be limited by its inconvenient jouney. "As there is no shortcut to Xiangshan, even if you start off at 8 o'clock, you will arrive at about 11 o'clock. That means you have to make it at least a two-day trip", he said. Great changes will take place with the construction of the bridge. Even if it’s on weekdays, people from downtown Ningbo can drive to Xiangshan in less than an hour to enjoy the scenery and the seafood, which means it is possible to have a half-day trip there.
"With the completion of the bridge, the structure of the tourist source will change and more tourists from other areas will come." commented a related personnel from Xiangshan Tourism and Landscape Management Bureau. In the past, the driving tourists were mainly from Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo. With the opening of Hangzhou Bay Bridge and Xiangshan Port Bridge, the tourist source market will be expanded to include other areas of the Yangtze River Delta area and even the whole South China area.
On the other side of the bridge, the tourism market of Yinzhou District can also benefit a lot. According to an official from Yinzhou District Tourism Bureau, the bridge can connect the rich marine tourism resources of Xiangshan County and the Buddhist and scenic tourism resources of Yinzhou District, thus making it possible to integrate and promote the resources of the two parties.

"With the opening of the bridge at the end of the year, the self-driving tour market will sure to come to another climax", said some insiders of tourism industry.
