Power facilities export increases dramatically

The power shortage in Egypt promotes the export of power facilities in Ningbo greatly. According to the statistics from the inspection and quarantine departments, in the first half of 2013, the total export of Ningbo power facilities to Egypt amounts to $49.4 million, an increase of 29.2%.
Due to the fuel shortage and rapid growth of the demand for industrial and residential electricity, Egypt, where electricity infrastructure is lagging behind, has recently witnessed a severe power shortage, and the situation is getting worse, which leads to the craze of buying such power facilities as small-scale generators and emergency lights.
Among the exported power facilities to Egypt, emergency lights possess the biggest growth in sales. With the cumulative value of $1.382 million, it has increased 10 times. While with a cumulative volume of $255,000, small-scale generators obtain an increase of nearly 9 times. Different from in the past, when power accessories were major exports, in this year, the export of whole facilities accounts for 78.5% of the exported value to Egypt, which becomes a new feature of power facilities export for Ningbo. In addition, exports of wire and cable, cigarette lighter, and air conditioning have increased by 126.8%m 255% and 39.1% respectively.
