In the recent election of cities strong in tourism in Zheijang, Ninghai is listed in Zhejiang Top 10 Counties in Tourism Development. The election was organized by Zhejiang Daily Newspaper Group and Zhejiang Provincial Tourist Administration. The election resulted in top 10s in tourism news, tourism figures, cities strong in tourism development and favored tourist cities.

In 2012, Ninghai received about 8 million tourists home and abroad, and the income from tourism totals 7.371 billion yuan.
