Grape Festival launched in Linshan

The Grape Festival in Linshan, Yuyao was launched on August 1. Dozens of photographers from Yuyao and visitors from the Changjiang River delta area became the first group of people to pick the grapes. The launch of the festival also symbolized the beginning of the cultural tour of the ancient town——Linshan.

Linshan has long been crowned as a place for growing grapes with thousands years of history. As early as in the Ming Dynasty, the record says that Linshan grew grapes then, and till now, there are 38 varieties of grapes grown on fields of 12,000 mu in area. The total revenue of last year amounted to 280 mln yuan.

It is learned that during the one-month festival, a series of activities will be held, including photographing contest, calligraphy writing competition, blind-dating etc.
