Recently, the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railway (Zhejiang section) passed the planning site selection and land use pre-examination of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Natural Resources, laying a solid foundation for the approval of the next feasibility study report and land use approval of the project. The construction of this project will end the history of the absence of high-speed rail in Cixi City.
According to the Ningbo Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, the project is a national key transportation infrastructure project and has been included in the "Higher Quality Integrated Development Plan for Transportation in the Yangtze River Delta". The project connects cities in the Yangtze River Delta such as Jiaxing and Ningbo. The design of a dual-track high-speed railway with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, with a total project investment of approximately 59.9 billion yuan.
