Yuyao having eight more provincial famous trademarks

Recently, 361 trademarks have been identified as "2012 Famous Trademarks in Zhejiang Province" by Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Industry and Commerce. Eight trademarks from Yuyao County, including "Lengjiang" from Yuyao Lenjiang Turtle Corporation, were listed. So far, there are 69 provincial famous trademarks in Ningbo, ranking among the top cities in Zhejiang Province.

In the meanwhile, the list of the municipal famous trademarks has also been released. 13 trademarks, including "Hongxuan" from Yuyao Traffic Symbol Facilities Co. Ltd., are listed. So far, there have been 101 Ningbo famous trademarks.

Forest ecology improvement in Siming Mountain achieving initial success

Over the past six months, 17 cases of deforestation in the Siming Mountain area have been investigated in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Forest Law in Fenghua County and Yuyao County.

As the biggest "green lung" in the east of Zhejiang Province and the source of the "three rivers" and the tap water source area, Siming Mountain serves as an important green barrier. However, with the blind and disorderly development of plant production, the forest resources of the mountain area have been seriously destroyed and the eco-environment is deteriorating. To address this problem, Ningbo Municipal Forestry Bureau has launched the special campaign of protecting the forest ecology in Siming Mountain from May 2012 to April 2013.

With the guidelines of focusing on the source, strengthening publicity and implementing strict combat, the campaign is to curb such illegal acts as deforestation and destruction of forest resources in the development-forbidding areas. The over-cutting, deforestation, and destruction by illegal contracting and leasing of plant production and other industrial crops in the public eco-forests, closing-off forest areas and scenic areas will be promptly investigated and severely punished in accordance with laws and regulations.

The forestry departments request the related governments of all levels to attach importance to the restoration of the eco-environment of the mountain area by returning farmlands to forests. In the meanwhile, they should help the mountain residents to optimize and adjust the industrial structure, and encourage the development of such special forest industries as brand dried fruits and such ecologically efficient agriculture as forest tourism and sightseeing farming, to realize the gradual restoration of the eco-environment of Siming Mountain area.

Top ten farm tourism festivals announced

Word comes from the Agricultural Affairs Office of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee that the first batch of "top ten farm tourism festivals in Ningbo" has been announced recently, including the bayberry festival of Yuyao County, the persimmon festival of Siming Mountain area and Danshan-Chishui scenic area, the peach blossom festival of Fenghua County, the razor clam festival in the Long Street of Ninghai County, the Lantern Festival parade of Qiantong Ancient Town, the strawberry festival of Shangtian Town, the cherry blossom festival of Zhangxi Village in Siming Mountain area, the mulberry festival of Tiangong Manor, the loquat festival of Xinqiao Town and the bayberry festival of Cixi County.

The farm leisure tourism festivals stem from the traditional farm festivals. Since the beginning of this year, Ningbo has encouraged all the counties and districts to organize various farm leisure tourism festivals. On April 6, the first session of the theme activity of Ningbo farm leisure tourism festival was held during the period of the peach blossom festival in Fenghua County. On November 12, Ningbo Municipal Farm Tourism Office hosted the electing activity of the "top ten farm tourism festivals", under the guidance of the Agricultural Affairs Office of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, and with the assistance of such media as Ningbo Daily, Ningbo Evening, Southeast Business, www.cnnb.com.cn, www.cnluye.com, and www.njlnb.com. The 20 elected festivals from the 61 candidates were then exposed to vote by readers, netizens and experts and online announcement before the final top ten were determined.

The festivals attract tourists and consequently can promote the sales of farm products. According to statistics, the festival activities in Ningbo have attracted over 3.3 million tourists and led to a total sales volume of 300 million yuan. The farmhouse touring in Ningbo have received 16.311 million tourists and realized a revenue of 1.56 billion yuan, up by 36.9% and 38.2% respectively over the same period last year.

Online group purchase activities for touring Xiangshan launched

The online group purchase activities for touring Xiangshan were launched on the group purchase platform of Taobao on Dec. 15. With the aim of attracting more tourists to Xiangshan, they will end on Jan. 3, 2013.
Themed at “Eating seafood, purchasing sea products”, the activities were available in 62 cities in Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian and Shanghai etc simultaneously. Seven travel routes were launched and eight hotels were provided for choice, and many products were special priced. In addition, the first 20 purchasers could get a free meal ticket for two persons to enjoy the seafood of Xiangshan.
It is learned that it was the first round of cooperation between the tourism administrative authority of Xiangshan and Taobao.
