Ningbo Customs released the Ningbo’s foreign trade data yesterday: In the first two months of this year, the total import and export volume of Ningbo reached 186.6 billion yuan, the export 119.98 billion yuan and the import 66.62 billion yuan. In the ranking of import and export scale of cities in the country, Ningbo jumped from the 6th to the 5th.
Specifically, Europe and the United States remain top two trading partners. In the first two months of this year, the import and export to the European Union and the United States were 33.69 billion yuan and 30.08 billion yuan respectively. ASEAN is the third largest trading partner followed by Russia.
In addition, Ningbo's import and export to countries along the "the Belt and Road" reached 61.77 billion yuan, up 9.7% year on year, accounting for 33.1% of the total import and export volume in the same period; Import and export to Central and Eastern European
countries reached 7.87 billion yuan, up 11.6% year on year.
Mechanical and electrical products are still the main export commodities of Ningbo. The export volume in the first two months of this year reached 69.2 billion yuan, accounting for 57.7% of the total export volume.
In terms of imported goods, Ningbo imported 5.24 billion yuan of agricultural products, up 41.6% year on year; Imported automobiles amounted to 1.89 billion yuan, up 162% year on year
