Turnover of nearly 300 million yuan was made in the three-day expo

Around 60,000 visitors attended the Maritime Silk Road Cultural and Travel Expo, held 25-27 September in Ningbo. The expo was a remarkable success as a turnover of 293 million yuan was made and letters of intent worth 782 million yuan was reached, according to the statistics released by the organizing committee on September 28.

Through the integration of culture and tourism, Ningbo introduced a range of cultural and creative products as well as cultural tourist attractions in the exhibition. Whether it is the relics from Jingtou Mountains Site, the model of Baoguo Temple (built in Northern Song Dynasty), the display of Yue Kiln, Alabear (a mascot of Doingqian Lake’s LOHAS) or the Maitreya Buddha (the spokesperson of Xuedou Mountain), all allows visitors to better understand and have a crush on the city; the public made a panic purchase of small handicrafts made with intangible heritage techniques such as lacquer, homespun, bamboo weaving, and bone wood inlays.

At the exhibition, the Sofia Chinese cultural center set up a cooperation platform through integrating the literature and art, tourism, commerce and other resources of Central and Eastern Europe. Jointly with Bulgaria China Travel Agency, it built a tourism image (of Sofia) experience center of cultural-oriented travel in Ningbo and opened five feature workshops. The 2020 Maritime Silk Road Cultural and Travel Expo demonstrates significantly enhanced creative taste and market appeal by virtue of combining Ningbo Cultural Industry Fair and Ningbo International Travel Exposition. The expo, covering an area of 30,000 square meters, received over 1000 exhibitors from dozens of countries and regions and nearly 100 domestic cities. During the exhibition, 17 major cultural tourism projects reached cooperation intentions, totally valued at more than 18 billion yuan, in cultural and tourism complex, digital industry, film and television industry, intangible cultural heritage industry, cultural tourism festivals, Creative design and other fields.

The expo also promoted the comprehensive integration of culture and related industries. Together with it, nearly 20 supporting theme events were held, including the studio opening ceremony of Ningbo master Shan Jixiang, the Cultural Design Empowering Ningbo Intelligent Manufacturing Summit Forum, the award ceremony of the third China Design Award for “Life Aesthetics” design competition
