Digital platform to help companies fight coronavirus

If the coronavirus doesn’t affect flights in June, we would meet 3 or 4 quality buyers by then”, praised by the people in charge of Ningbo Veken at the video conference for stabilizing foreign trade and investment held in Haishu District recently.

 Tradechina is the online foreign trade platform created by Meorient, the only listed exhibition company in China. It has attracted over 1m superior suppliers, connected online and off line supply-demand for years, and hosted exhibitions across the world. The Bureau of Commerce of Haishu District has made home over 100 foreign trade companies on the platform via cooperation with Tradechina, receiving many orders of intention in a mere one month.

 To help connect foreign trade companies and buyers abroad effectively, Haishu district promoted the use of Internet and information technology to establish digital platforms of all kinds, providing convenience for companies engaged in online exhibition. It is said that the Bureau of Commerce of Haishu District would team work with Meorient in building the digital platform to fight against the effects of coronavirus, thus offering foreign trade companies in the district services in seeking overseas orders like digital demonstration, connecting and meeting.

 Thanks to online platfor and digital services, impressive gains have been made in the expansion of overseas market of these companies in Haishu district. For example, Ningbo LIFT Winch Manufacture Co., Ltd saw a significant rise in contact with buyers after made home on Tradechina, and orders from Poland and Turkey emerged from time to time. Ningbo Haosheng Pneumatic Machinery Co., Ltd gave up all chances of international exhibition over the first half of the year and instead shifted to online meeting via Alibaba, Made In China to attract customers. It has reached initial cooperation with over 30 companies from more than 10 countries like German, Japan and South Korea with filled orders until June this year.

 “Opportunities emerged amid crises, so we would promote the healthy development of open economy across the district through innovation and cooperation between government and enterprises”, said the director of the committee of Haishu District. They would facilitate the application of digital technology to help foreign trade companies strike deals and expand their presence in the emerging market
