From related department it is learned that the Summit of E-business of Fashion Industry 2011 & E-purchasing Fair of Chinese Fashion Industry is to open in Ningbo International Conference and Exhibition Center on October 20. It is reported that this will be the first summit and purchasing fair to be held in a fashion festival in China.

As an important part of the 15th Ningbo International Fashion Festival, the Summit of E-business of Fashion Industry is hosted by the organization committee of Ningbo International Fashion Festival, China E-business Research Center and China Fashion Website. Over 10 years ago, together with 20 coxswains, he initiated a proposal for protecting the sea and hence came into being China's first marine environment protection organization "Chinese Fishermen's Volunteer Team of Marine Environment Protection".

This man is Liu Yongfa, a coxswain from Xiangshan County of Ningbo. On the morning of October 13, he and other 9 people who have made outstanding contributions for the environment protection of China were awarded "Mother River Award" in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The 60-year-old Lin Yongfa has been a fisherman for 42 years. In August 2000, out of his worries with the worsening marine ecological environment and the exhausting marine resources, he and together 20 coxswains initiated a proposal for protecting the sea and founded China's first marine environment protection organization "Chinese Fishermen's Volunteer Team of Marine Environment Protection". Since then, he has participated in every fishing festival. He is a representative protector of the sea in Xiangshan.

During 9th fishing festival, at the approval of the Central Committee of the Youth League of China and China Young Volunteers Association, "China Young Volunteers' Base for the Protection of Seas" was set up in Xiangshan. In 2007, Lin Yongfa was elected Person of the Year for Marine Environment Protection. In 2008, he was elected a torch bearer of the Olympic Games in Beijing. He is also a model worker of Ningbo.

It is reported that the "Mother River Award" was established in 2000 by the leading group of the protecting the mother river program. It is also the only award in China in the environment protection undertaking for the young people. The award aims to commend the individuals and organizations that make outstanding contributions to the environment and ecological protection. The program of the Mother River Award this year is organized by the leading group of the national protecting the mother river program and sponsored by L'OREAL (China) Co., Ltd.

Service Month Campaign for Foreign-invested Enterprises drew a successful conclusion

The press conference by the Office for Service Month Campaign for Foreign-invested Enterprises was held on October 10, when it is announced that the Service Month concludes successfully. During the campaign period, 1561 acres of land for the use of foreign-invested enterprises were approved, thus making it possible for the landing and contract-signing of some big foreign-invested projects. 38 problems raised by related enterprises were located and solved, and the campaign achieved initial success.

It is reported that since August 12, the launching date of the campaign, the related departments in Ningbo have visited some foreign-invested enterprises and relevant organizations in order to have a better understanding of the difficulties and problems met by the enterprises. They made great efforts to solve problems for the enterprises' production and business, actively promoted the landing and contract-signing of some big foreign-invested projects by providing some new preferential measures. In addition, they named a batch of distinguished foreign-invested enterprises and service organizations and strengthened the publicity work of Ningbo's good investment environment.

Among all the 100 projects of the Service Month Campaign, 32 projects have achieved substantial results. There is hope for the approval of 9 projects under discussion, and another 68 projects are well under way.

Cloud computing construction making significant progress

It is learnt from the Ningbo Branch of China Telecom that after 5 months' intensive construction, the standard computer room for the IDC, located in the Zhuangshi Street in Zhenhai District, is now ready for operation. It aims at providing such services as host administration, virtual host, IDC value-added service and application outsourcing for international enterprises, large enterprises, and governments and financial institutes with special demand for data security. It is said that the investment in the IDC, with an area of 1700 square meters, a scale of 500 frames and an outlet bandwidth of 80G, amounted to 73.65 million yuan.

"This year, the branch has invested over 200 million yuan in the construction of the IDC and increased the outlet bandwidth by 200G, making Ningbo the important supplement for the provincial and national data centers." said the official in charge of Ningbo Telecom. The newly built IDC will enhance its services for cloud computing by providing more value-added services such as the statistical analysis of flow rate and the application system, the backup and recovery of data and network security. It will also strengthen its cloud computing construction in terms of the network management, user authentication and accounting, large capacity storage equipment and network security.

Ningbo's business network spots tripled within two years

In the last few years, Ningbo's business net has quickened its pace of development and now citizens have more and more consumer places to choose from. The biennial survey of the big business network spots in Chinese big and medium-sized cities released by the Ministry of Business shows that by the end of last year, Ningbo had had 157 business spots with an area over 5000 square meters, 3 times that of the year of 2008. The total area reached 5,891,395 square meters, 20 times that of 2008.

With the ever-quickening development of Ningbo's urban construction, the citizens' need for the modern big business facilities such as shopping malls, department stores and supermarkets is increasing day by day. From 2008 to 2010, Ningbo built 8 shopping centers, 26 department stores, 18 household building material stores and 62 commodity exchange markets. The per capita area increased from less than 0.5 square meters to 0.98 square meters.
